About SGP

The Society of Government Pharmacists (SGP) was established in 1957 in Sri Lanka and it delivers the pharmaceutical service to the country for nearly 63 years since it established.

The founder President of SGP was Mr. W.I. Fernando and General Secretary was Mr. S. Kandasamy (1960/1961). Today, SGP has over 2000 members itself to deliver patient care.

Members of SGP deliver their service in different aspects of the pharmacy profession such as, hospital pharmacy service, medical supplies management, registration and quality assurance of medical supplies, and etc. to the healthcare of the country. The SGP always leads it’s members to improve the quality standard of pharmacy practice to deliver the patient centered care.
